Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: Combined Opposition candidate for the upcoming Presidential election Yashwant Sinha will meet MPs and MLAs here as a part of kicking off his election campaign from Kerala Wednesday.

He will meet the MLAs and MPs at the Sankaranarayanan Thampi Hall in the Legislative Assembly this afternoon.

Yashwant Sinha will interact with the LDF and UDF members separately.

The former union finance and external affairs minister was received at the airport on Tuesday evening by Opposition party leader VD Satheesan and Indian Union Muslim League leader Kunhalikutty. Later, Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeeve met him at the Mascot Hotel in the night.

Later, KPCC President K Sudhakaran alleged that the ruling CPM leaders deliberately avoided welcoming Yaswant Singha on his arrival at the airport as part of a political game to appease Narendra Modi citing the ongoing ED probe into the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case.

Former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, who filed his nomination paper Monday for the Jul 18 Presidential election will start his campaign from Kerala Jun 29.
