One militant killed in Kashmir's Bandipora encounter

Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir, Sept 22 (IBNS) : One militant was killed on Thursday in a gun battle with security forces in North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Thursday morning, reports said.

The hours-long encounter took place after security  forces had surrounded Aragam Chitti Bandi village on specific information about the presence of militants.

This encounter took place after 75 days since July 8 when top Hizb leader Burhan Wani was killed in South Kashmir.

Kashmir witness mass uprising after Burhan death, 78 people died in security forces firing while 10,000 civilians injured during protests.

Kashmir's Uri town was hit by a major terrorist attack on Sunday which left 18 Indian soldiers martyred.

Four terrorists, believed to have crossed the border from Pakistan, sneaked into the Army camp located near the LoC in Uri and launched the attack on Sunday.
