Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, France, June 26 (IBNS) Two men attacked a gas factory in eastern France on Friday morning, beheading one person and injuring several others in a suspected terror attack.

Media reports said  France has opened a terrorism investigation. One of the attackers has been arrested.

A decapitated body was found close to the factory entrance, with banners with Arabic writing near it, reports quoted an official as saying.

The attack reportedly  began mid-morning when two men crashed a car into the entrance of the gas factory about 400 km from Paris, hitting gas canisters causing an explosion.

In a statement, France's anti-terror prosecutor said an investigation was opened into the attack, which  was carried out by "a terrorist group."

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, who is on an official trip to South America has ordered heightened security near the gas factory.

France had witnessed an attack in January when gunmen fired indiscriminately at the office of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo leaving 12 people dead.

A policewoman and four hostages in a Jewish supermarket were also killed during the three-day attacks.
