Omar condemns Pak firing, visits Arnia

Srinagar, Oct 6 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday strongly condemned the killing of innocent civilians in the shelling from across the border in Arnia sub-sector of Jammu district.

He said that resorting to shelling on civilian and that too on the occasion of holy Eid is all the more shocking. He expressed his solidarity with border people and assured the support of his government.

The Chief Minister who did not celebrate Eid festivity in the mark of respect to the human lives lost in devastating flood and huge losses caused to the residential houses, public infrastructure and other property affecting of people, offered prayers at Hazratbal in the morning and flew to Jammu to meet the bereaved families in the shelling from across the border.

It has been learnt that Omar Abdullah visited the bereaved families in Arnia, attended the last rights of the deceased in the shelling and met the injured in Jammu Medical College (JMC), to take stock of their health condition.

He directed the hospital administration to provide all sorts of medical treatment to the injured.

The Chief Minister prayed for early recovery to the injured.
