Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to contest two Assembly seat

Bhubaneswar, Mar 18 (UNI/IBNS) In a big surprise BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik on Monday brought eight new faces in nine Lok sabha seats, retained six ministers in their respective assembly seat and induct several new faces in the Assembly seats with the release of party candidates for 9 Lok sabha and 54 Assembly seats here.

Mr Patnaik himself decided to contest two Assembly seats for the first time in his long 19 years rule in the state when besides his home constituency Hinjilikatu in South Odisha, he would now contest the Bijepur Assembly seat in Western Odisha.

Two sitting Rajya sabha MPs- Prasanna Acharaya and Achyut Samant were nominated to contest in Bargarh rpt Bargarh and Kandhmal Lok sabha seat respectively.
