NSLA militant nabbed in Kokrajhar

Guwahati, Apr 10 (IBNS) : Security forces on Friday apprehended a hardcore militant belonging to NSLA in Assam's Kokrajhar district, officials said.

Defence spokesman based in Guwahati said that following a tip-off army and police had jointly launched operation at Gomna area in the BTAD district and nabbed the militant.

The nabbed militant was identified as Lakhiram Kisku alias Surya alias Mathiyas and he was the area commander of the outfit group.

"The terrorist is suspected to be involved in stealing weapons from Sapkata police station and in killing of Siblal Murmu, then commander-in-chief of ceasefire group Santhal Tiger Force (STF) in 2013, " the defence spokesman said.

Security forces recovered a factory made 7.62mm pistol, few rounds ammunition and other war like stores in possession from him.
