NSCN (IM) leader shot dead in Dimapur

Guwahati, Aug 17 (IBNS): A leader of Naga outfit group NSCN (IM) was shot by unidentified assailants in Nagaland’s Dimapur town on Friday evening at around 7-30 pm.

According to the reports, the incident took place at his residence at Unity Colony, Purana Bazar (B) area in Dimapur.

The deceased NSCN (IM) leader was identified as Major Toishe.

A top official of Dimapur police said the victim was shot at from point-blank range by two masked men at his residence in front of his family members.

“He sustained two fatal shots in the head and body and immediately rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival,” the police official said.

Nagaland police registered a case at the East Police Station, Dimapur and started investigation.
