Nitish Kumar seeks time to meet Guv. Is Bihar bracing for Grand Alliance 2.0?

Patna/IBNS: In a significant move amid speculation of his break up with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has sought time to meet Governor Phagu Chauhan, media reports said.

Meanwhile, Nitish is holding a meeting with his party Janata Dal (United) MLAs and MPs in Patna.

As per reports, Nitish is likely to break up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP, which has drawn critical responses from the JDU chief on a number of recent issues.

The Congress along with the single largest party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which is now steered by jailed former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tejashwi, have already expressed their readiness to stitch the Grand Alliance 2.0.

As per some reports, Nitish has already spoken to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Reports also say Nitish's stance is prompted by the BJP's activeness in expanding its footprint in the state where the saffron party has long played a second fiddle.

In the 2020 assembly elections, Nitish got back his Chief Ministerial post with much credit to the BJP which had won more number of seats than its alliance partner.

In the 2015 state polls, the JDU, RJD and Congress together fought and won over the BJP, whose campaign was driven by Modi.
