New Delhi: More than 25 world leaders participate as G20 Summit begins today

More than 25 world leaders, including US President Joe Biden and UK PM Rishi Sunak, will be participating in the two-day G20 Summit at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in New Delhi on Saturday.

The world leaders started arriving in India on Friday for the crucial summit which Indian PM Narendra Modi said will chart a new path in human-centric and inclusive development.

Narendra Modi arrived at the Convention Centre on Saturday to welcome the guests.

 

Narendra Modi on Friday met United States President Joe Biden at his residence for bilateral discussions shortly after he landed in New Delhi for the G20 Summit scheduled to begin Saturday.

Biden's plane - Air Force One - touched down at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport shortly before 7 pm.

The Prime Minister's Office shared photos of the two leaders holding talks on "a wide range of issues (that) will further deepen the bond between India and the US".

Calling their meeting 'productive', PM Modi said: "We were able to discuss numerous topics which will further economic and people-to-people linkages between India and USA. The friendship between our nations will continue to play a great role in furthering global good."

More than 25 heads of state and top officials from the European Union, invited guest countries, and 14 heads of international organizations are attending the event.
