Never going to bow down to RSS' ideology: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Apr 11 (IBNS) Slamming the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for preventing progress in India, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said on Monday that he will never bow down to RSS' ideologies.

The Gandhi scion also let out a verbal barrage against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting the RSS and turning a deaf ear to real problems.

Gandhi said that  PM Narendra Modi is too busy airing his own programme, rather than listing to people who are dying.

Taking a swipe at the RSS, he said that the group doesn't allow free thinking and is trying to control every educational institution in India.

"Is there any university in India, where the RSS did not want control. they have instilled their members everywhere," Gandhi said.

Reiterating Rohith Vemula's suicide, he accused the BJP-RSS bond and said that the deceased sacrificed his life for the nation.

"He sacrifice his life for the nation, But tell me, who compelled him to commit suicide? The Vice Chancellor. And who put him there?" Rahul asked.

Gandhi also said that he and his party is ready to challenge the oppression.

"I will confront the BJP and RSS, their ideologies," Gandhi said.

"The Congress will fight for the oppressed, the poor, the women as i cannot tolerate the kind of treatment that's being given to them."

"I want to see my country rise again," he said while stating that the RSS ideology had dented India's culture in the past and should be prevented from using again.

Gandhi, who had come under severe criticism from his political opponents, as the likes of Narendra Modi and Smriti Irani questioned his motives, the Gandhi scion said that he is being attacked because his opponents bear the knowledge that he cannont be convinced otherwise.

"I am being criticised constantly," Gandhi said, while adding, "But do you know why? Because they know I won't bow down to their threats and be convinced of their brand of politics."
