Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli arrives in India

New Delhi, Apr 6 (IBNS): Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli arrived in India to commence his three-day trip to the Asian nation.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh welcomed Oli to the nation.

"Neighbourhood first! Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli and Mrs. Radhika Shakya were warmly welcomed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh on their arrival in India. This is the first State visit of Prime Minister Oli after being elected as Prime Minister of Nepal. #WelcomePMOli," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

A high-level delegation will accompany Prime Minister of Nepal.

"During the visit, Prime Minister of Nepal will call on Rashtrapatiji and Vice President of India, and will hold talks with Prime Minister of India. EAM and other Ministers will call on the Prime Minister of Nepal. India and Nepal enjoy age-old, special ties of friendship and cooperation," Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

"The upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review wide-ranging cooperative partnership, and to progress it further for the benefit of the two peoples," it said.

Besides official engagements in New Delhi, the Prime Minister of Nepal will be visiting G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. 

Oli is scheduled to return to Nepal on Apr 8.
