New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) Taking suo motu cognisance of the gang rape of a married woman in Bikaner in

Rajasthan, the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday urged Rajasthan Police to ensure swift

and speedy probe into the matter.

"The Commission is seriously concerned over the recent rise in heinous crimes targetted against women in

Rajasthan, despite enactment of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 2013," the body said in a letter addressed to the state police Director General of Police.

Reacting to a news report "Married Woman gang raped by three in Rajasthan's Bikaner district",

NCW said it was "deeply disturbed" by the incident.
