NCP leader Nawab Malik accuses former Maharashtra CM Fadnavis of having links with drug peddler

Mumbai/UNI: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik Monday pointed his guns at former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis saying the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader is closely linked to alleged drug peddler Jaideep Rana.

Malik shared two photographs of Rana on Twitter, one with Fadnavis and the other with the former Chief Minister's wife, Amruta Fadnavis.

Malik accused Fadnavis of playing a vital role in drug seizure raids over the last two-years.

Addressing the media here, Malik allegedly said on the behest of Fandavis drug seizure has been going on. Fandavis has links with drug peddlers and has been trying to destabilise the state government for the last two-years.

Malik shared photographs of Amruta Fandavis with Rana at a T-Series release of a song sung by Sonu Nigam. The other photograph showed Rana, Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and the former Chief Minister.

Malik said he will write to President Ram Nath Kovind seeking judicial, as well as a CBI inquiry into this matter.

Malik has also attacked National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) vice-chairmen Arun Halder for visiting NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede's house even as the officer is facing a probe.

The NCP leader slammed Halder for giving a clean chit to Wankhede. Halder has refuted Malik's claim and said "the family was never Muslim" and "Wankhede has been a Dalit by birth".

Malik, however, said he stood by every statement that he has issued so far in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case that saw Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's son spend 28 days in custody.

Malik has said Wankhede was Muslim by birth and later changed his religion to get benefit under the Scheduled Caste category to land a government job.
