Narendra Modi wishes Manohar Lal Khattar for taking oath as Haryana CM

New Delhi/IBNS: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar for taking oath as Chief Minister for the second term.

He wished Khattar and Dushyant Chautala and tweeted: "Congratulations to @mlkhattar Ji and @Dchautala on taking oath as CM and Deputy CM of Haryana. Best wishes to them as they work to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Haryana."

Chautala took oath as the Deputy CM of the state.

Manohar Lal Khattar took oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time on Sunday at the Raj Bhavan here.

Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP-led government in the state.

BJP, which won 40 seats in the just-concluded Haryana Assembly elections, six short of the majority, entered into an alliance with Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janta Party(JJP) which grabbed 10 seats to form the next state government.

The post-poll alliance was formalised in a quick meeting between Dushyant Chautala and BJP National President Amit Shah.

Seven independents have also declared their support for a BJP-led government in Haryana, helping BJP to reach a tally of 57 in the 90-member Assembly.

Backed by the numbers, BJP and its allied had placed the claim to form the next government in the state at a meeting on Saturday with Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya.
