Narendra Modi reaches Maldives to attend Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's oath-taking ceremony

Male, Nov 17 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in Maldives to attend the oath-taking ceremony of President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Solih defeated strongman Abdulla Yameen in September polls.

"Deepening our connect with a valued maritime neighbour.
PM @narendramodi begins a historic visit to The Maldives. He will join the oath taking ceremony of President-elect @ibusolih shortly," PMO India tweeted.

This is the first visit of Modi to the island nation as the PM of India.
