Narendra Modi likely to address first poll rally in Delhi on Feb 3
New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address his first election rally for Delhi polls on February 3 - two days after presentation of Union Budget 2020-21.
According to party sources, BJP lawmaker from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir and other leaders including Manoj Tiwari, Delhi unit chief, are expected to attend the same along with party candidates for ten assembly segments falling under East Delhi.
A few candidates from assembly constituencies under North East Delhi may also be present.
High profile constituencies such as Patparganj, Laxmi Nagar and Okhla fall under East Delhi parliamentary constituency - which also has segments like Jangpura, Trilokpuri, Kondli, Vishwas Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and Shahdara.
The BJP has been reluctant this year in 'exposing' Mr Modi for Delhi polls and the campaign leadership has been generally led by BJP national president J P Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Both the leaders have been addressing multiple election rallies in the city during last few days.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, a former BJP national president, also has been addressing poll rallies here.
Sources also said Prime Minister may also address a few more rallies in the run up to the February 8 polls.
In 2015 Delhi polls, where the saffron outfit ended up putting up a dismal performance managing to win only three seats in 70-member House, Prime Minister Modi had addressed four rallies.
