Kolkata, Jul 4 (IBNS): The Kolkata Police on Monday arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly making bomb hoax call at West Bengal's main administrative building Nabanna, reports said.

According to reports, Kolkata Police's control room received a call at around 9 pm on Sunday, where an anonymous caller claimed that a bomb had been planted at Nabanna which would explode at anytime.

Thereafter a huge police force, including the senior officials of Kolkata Police and Howrah City Police, Special Task Force (STF) and bomb disposal squad personnel along with sniffer dogs rushed to Nabanna. After conducting a hour long search operation there, police declared that no suspicious object was found from the entire facility.

After starting investigation into the matter, police traced the suspicious number and identified the fake caller. The suspect, Aniruddha Ghosh, was nabbed from his residence in Kolkata's Kalighat area.

He was produced before a city court on Monday and send to judicial custody for 3 days.

"We have booked the suspect from his residence at Kalighat's Chakradhari Ghosh Road area in Kolkata. No suspicious object has been found from his house and possession. The man is mentally unstable," one senior official of Kolkata Police told IBNS.

However, the man will be produced again to the same court on July 8.
