My government's holy book is Constitution: Modi

| | Feb 27, 2015, at 09:21 pm
New Delhi, Feb 27 (IBNS) Defending his secular credentials, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday told Indian parliament that his government's only holy book is the Constitution of India.

"Our only Holy Book is India's Constitution. This Government's religion is one- India First," he told Parliament responding to recent criticism against his regime after a spake of attacks on Christian places.

"No one can take the law in their hands and discriminate on the grounds of community," said Modi.

He said: "I asked- do we want to fight each other or poverty. I said, enough is enough we have fought a lot. Let us unite and fight poverty."

He said he had reiterated these on Oct 27, 2013 in Patna when there were bombs at his rally and in the midst of blood flowing and the sound of bombs.
