MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan meets PM Modi

New Delhi, July 31 (IBNS): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is under fire over the Vyapam scam in his state, is meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter's residence in New Delh in Friday.
The meeting has officially been called to discuss the report of a plan panel sub-committee that Chouhan heads, said reports.

However, speculations are rife that this meeting has been scheduled to break the deadlock in the Parliament as both Houses are continuously disrupted in this ongoing Monsoon Session.

An all-party meeting held to break the political deadlock in Parliament has proved futile though efforts are being made to convene another meeting to ensure that normalcy is restored.

The Congress-led opposition has stuck to its demand for resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Lalit Modi issue demanding that the government has to take a call.

The issue of Vyapam scam has also been creating uproar in the Parliament.

The opposition has also put its foot down demanding removal of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the Vyapam scam.

A recalcitrant opposition has been hell bent on not allowing Parliament to function unless the government concedes its demands. But the Treasury bench has made it clear that there will be no resignation.

The situation has led to total disruption of proceedings in both houses of parliament every day for more than a week.
