Motihari: Four killed, five others seriously injured due to bursting of boiler

Motihari, Nov 16 (UNI) Four people were killed and five others were seriously injured when a boiler exploded during the preparation of mid-day meal by an NGO for students studying in government schools under Sugauli police station area in East Champaran district today.

Police said here that NGO Nav Prayas was preparing mid-day meal for students studying in more than 50 government schools near Bangra railway gate when the boiler exploded in the kitchen killing four people on the spot and leaving five others injured. The bodies got completely disfigured under the impact of the explosion.

Police said that the injured had been admitted to a local government hospital. The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Infuriated over the mishap, people blocked the main road near the spot demanding stern action against the NGO for not following the security standards and compensation to family members of the deceased. Sub-divisional officer (Sadar) Priyaranjan Raju, additional police superintendent Vineet Kumar and other local officers were camping at the spot.
