More than 4300 killed in Nepal earthquake

Kathmandu, Apr 28 (IBNS) The death toll in Saturday's earthquake in Nepal crossed 4300 as the Himalayan nation was hit by a fresh tremor measuring 4.5 on the Richter Scale on Tuesday.

The epicentre of the quake, which is located at latitude 28 degree north and latitude  85.4 degree east, hit the country at 4:50 hrs IST.

More than 70 people have died in India in Saturday's quake with  51 in Bihar, 12 in Uttar Pradesh and two in West Bengal, said reports.

Thousands of people are still camped outside in Nepal's capital Kathmandu, huddled under makeshift tents. Food, water and fuel are running scarce.

Relief and rescue operations were stepped up on Monday.

Fresh tremor jolted parts of West Bengal and Bihar on the same day.

An earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale rocked Nepal on Saturday.
