Kathmandu, Aug 5 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet Nepal President Ram Baran Yadav and other political leaders on Tuesday.
Modi will also meet former Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda later in the day during his two-day visit to the neighbouring Himalayan nation.

The Indian PM reached Nepal on Sunday and met his counterpart Sushil Koirala on the first day of his visit discussing many crucial issues including Nepal’s peace process, constitution-drafting and economic matters. He also addressed the Constituent Assembly in Kathmandu.

This is the first bilateral trip by an Indian PM to Nepal in 17 years.

Modi visited Pashupatinath temple on Tuesday morning where he performed a half-an-hour special prayer. As many as 102 priests of the temple also offered prayers with him.

The Indian PM signed three agreements including the 5,600 MW Pancheshwar Multipurpose Project during the trip.

He also announced $1 billion (Rs. 6,000 crore) as concessional line of credit to Nepal and proposed a “HIT” formula for the development of the country that is endowed with rich hydropower potential.
