Modi praised from Digvijaya stage

Bhopal, Apr 22 (UNI): A funny situation presented itself on Monday before the Bhopal parliamentary constituency’s Congress candidate and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijaya Singh when a youngster praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a stage from which Mr Singh was addressing an election rally at Intkhedi on the city outskirts.

During his speech, Mr Singh – in the context of Mr Modi’s earlier poll promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in every person’s account – asked if anyone had been thus benefitted.

“If such a person is present then he or she may raise a hand and I shall offer my salutation,” the seasoned politician averred.

A red shirt-clad young man actually did so. Mr Singh invited him onto the dais and urged him to furnish details.

As soon as the microphone was near his lips, the youth said: “Mr Modi neutralised terrorists through the surgical strike.”

At that juncture, the Congress veteran grabbed the mike from the person and somebody standing there made the youngster descend from the platform.
