Modi, Nitish plan first ever joint rally in Bihar

Patna, Jan 21 (IBNS): If things go to plan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi could be sharing the stage with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar in a rally here ahead of the general elections, say reports.

“We are coalition partners. Hence, a joint rally, rather more than one rally, has always been there in our planning. One should not read much in the event or them sharing the stage,” BJP state vice-president and headquarter in-charge Devesh Kumar said, Hindustan Times reported.

The report also quoted JD (U) spokesperson Ajay Alok as saying: “Now a formal date has to be announced. Preparations have begun to make the rally a mega success.”

The rally is likely to take place either at the end of February or March beginning.

“Yes, the talks are on and the PM is likely to visit Patna,” Hindustan Times quoted Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as saying.

This will be the first time Nitish and Modi will share a political stage. The two leaders have had a love-hate relationship over the years.

Other NDA leaders, including LJP's Ram Vilas Paswan, are also expected to be part of the rally.
