Modi in Rajasthan: Are we saving our nukes for Diwali?

New Delhi, Apr 21 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said India wasn't saving its nuclear warheads for Diwali.

Speaking at an election rally in Rajasthan's Barmer, Modi said it was New Delhi's pressure on Pakistan that forced it to hand over IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman back to India.

The IAF pilot had been captured in Pakistan after his aircraft was shot down and he ejected and landed across the LOC.

Modi said: "India has quit the policy of being scared of Pakistani threats."

"Every other day they said: 'We have nuclear button, we have nuclear button'. So what do we have then? Are those being saved for Diwali?" he said.

Since the February 14 attack in Pulwama that killed 40 CRPF jawans, the ruling BJP has built its election campaign around nationalism and its strong stance against Pakistan.
