Saharanpur, May 26 (IBNS): Having completed two years in power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said he is the 'pradhan sewak' (Prime Server) and not the 'pradhan mantri' (Prime Minister) as he relentlessly tries to serve the citizens of the country while trying to fulfill their dreams.
Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur to mark the completion of two years of the incumbent central government, said: "When NDA leaders chose me as their leader in Parliament and I gave my address, I had said my government is dedicated to the poor of the country. We have taken up those works which will give poor the power to fight and defeat poverty."

The Prime Minister said that his government is working towards the well being of farmers.

"Merely throwing crumbs at farmers is not our way of working. We are trying to solve the problems the farmers face," he said.

"We want to ensure that our sugarcane farmers do not face any problems," Modi added.

Listing out opportunities the Centre have provided the farmers, PM Modi said, "We have given soil health cards to our farmers. Give our farmers the right opportunity and see the wonders they can do."

Amid chants of 'Modi' 'Modi' at the rally, the PM said, "I am an Uttar Pradesh-wala, a parliamentarian from UP."

Speaking about LPG subsidy, the PM said that three crores family benefited from the initiative and he plans to take the tally to five crores.

"In last year 3 crore poor families got free LPG connection. Our aim is to provide 5 crore LPG connections to poor families in next 3 years," he said.

PM Modi also urged the doctors to dedicate at least 12 days a year, where they will treat expecting mothers free of cost.

"I appeal doctors to dedicate 12 days per year for free treatment to poor expecting mothers," he said.

He also highlighted the fact that his government's commitment remains to curb corruption.

"So much wealth has been looted. I am shocked' I have taken measures to stop this loot. Two years ago, no one would have dared to stand amid the people and give their account to the people," he said.

The BJP said that about two lakh people attended UP's rally, the first in a series that the Prime Minister will address.

After this, the PM will visit Shillong on Friday, Dhavalgiri in Karnataka on May 29, Balasore, Odisha, on June 2, and also Rajasthan.

Senior ministers will also visit across the country from Friday and address public meetings. As many as 33 teams will hold such interactions in 198 cities till June 15.
