Mob turns violent in Allahabad following death of BSP leader Rajesh Yadav, shot dead near University hostel

Allahabad, Oct 3 (IBNS): Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh turned violent on Tuesday following the death of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Rajesh Yadav, according to media reports.

Rajesh Yadav was shot dead outside Allahabad University's Tara Chand Hostel late on Monday, the media quoted the police as saying.

On Tuesday, a mob went on rampage and vandalised properties, media reported. The mob torched two buses and allegedly damaged a nursing home.

According to NDTV, the mob even attacked journalists.

The BSP leader was accompanied by his friend Dr Mukul Singh who later said to the police that some people attacked the BSP leader and opened fire at him at around 2.30am.

Yadav sustained a bullet injury on his stomach and was rushed to a private hospital by Dr Singh where he died while undergoing treatment, media reported.
