Minor girl raped by her own relative in Assam's Karimganj
Guwahati, July 17 (IBNS): A 7-year-old minor girl was raped by her own relative and now under treatment in critical condition.
Police on Tuesday evening arrested a youth in Assam’s Karimganj district, who allegedly raped the 7-year-old minor girl.
According to the reports, the incident took place at Chandkhirabasti area under Patharkandi police station, where the accused youth identified as Abbasuddin had allegedly raped the minor girl at his house.
Police said that the victim is the family relative of the accused youth.
On July 12, last the minor girl along with her mother had visited the youth’s home and stayed at night. The youth had allegedly raped the girl and fled after committing the crime.
On Tuesday evening, police had arrested Abbasuddin from Kashimganj area.
Police have registered a case at Patharkandi police station.
The victim is now under treatment at Karimganj civil hospital.
“The victim is the family relative of the accused youth named Abbasuddin. We had arrested him from Kashimganj area. He allegedly raped the minor girl on July 12 night at his own residence while the victim along with her mother visited his home. The victim is now in critical condition and under treatment at Karimganj civil hospital,” a police officer said.
