Mehmood Ghaznavi appointed as Hizbul Mujahideen chief

Srinagar, July 12 (IBNS) Kashmir based militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen has appointed Mehmood Ghaznavi as the new chief commander for the Kashmir Valley after the killing of top commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani in Anantang district along with two other associates on Friday evening.

“Mehmood Ghaznavi would be the new commander of the valley, outfit every militant have to follow his directions,” said outfit spokesman after command Council meeting with United Jihad Council Chief Syed Salah-ud-din.

Syed Salah-ud-din, while addressing and paying tributes to  Wani  prayed for the courage to the bereaved families.

Salah-ud-din said that, “We won’t deprive of sacrifices to reach Burhan Wani’s mission to its logical conclusion.”

He also said that they would hold a function on July 13 at Muzaffarabad which will be attended by United Jihad Council (UJC) and All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders.

Kashmir valley is on edge after the killing of Wani.

The death toll in the violence that has gripped the Valley for the past few days has touched 35.

While 1435 people have been injured during clashes since Friday.
