Mehbooba Mufti's advisor Amitabh Matto resigns

Srinagar, Nov 23 (IBNS) : Noted academician Amitabh Matto resigned as advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday.

Reports said the reasons for  his abrupt resignation were not immediately clear.

Mattoo is  a former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University.

His family is known to be close to the Muftis for many decades.

He was named as an advisor to Mehbooba with the status of a cabinet minister in April earlier this year.

He had also served as advisor to chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, who died on January seven
