Lucknow/UNI: BSP president Mayawati on Friday warned the people of Uttar Pradesh and asked them to be cautious about the election sops being announced by different political parties ahead of the assembly polls.

In a couple of tweets on Friday morning, Mayawati wrote, "In UP, especially the BJP, SP, Congress etc, to woo and mislead the people of the state, a flurry of election promises are being made every day, which are mostly forgotten after coming to power.

"This has been their history till now. People should beware of them".

She further wrote, "That is, the promises that BJP and SP are making to the public, why did they not do the work while their government was here?

"Why did the Congress party not do what they promised to give 40 percent tickets and scooty to women in the states where they have governments? This is also something to think about".
