Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister on Thursday wished Happy Diwali and Kali Puja to the people and also took part in the puja rituals.

"Warm wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Kali Pujo. May Maa Kali bless you and your loved ones with happiness, strength and wisdom," the TMC chief wrote on Twitter.

Goddess Kali is worshipped by the Bengalis in West Bengal and across the world on Diwali with great religious ardour and devotion in special ceremonies.

In another Twitter post, she wished "brightness and joy" and "safety, well-being and prosperity" for all on Diwali.

In contrast to her usual fiery image, Banerjee appeared to be in a spiritual mood as she sat quietly in the puja pandal.

On her official facebook account, she posted several videos of the Kali Puja organised at her Kalighat home in south Kolkata. In the videos, the CM can be seen actively participating in various puja rituals and interacting with the visitors.
