Massive fire in Bandra slums reaches railway station, situation under control

Mumbai, Oct 26 (IBNS):A massive fire which broke out at Behrampada slums in Mumbai's Bandra east in the afternoon, reached the Bandra railway station which is situated nearby, media reports said.

The Andheri-Wadala stretch of the Harbour Line has been shut since the fire broke out as a precautionary measure.

The main skywalk connecting Bandra east and Bandra station has been engulfed in fire.

However, the situation is presently under control.

As many as 16 fire engines and 17 water tanks are present at the site.

The fire broke out at around 3 p.m..

Apart from a firefighter, no one else has been injured.
