Manipur prepares for Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit

Imphal/UNI: Security has been beefed up in Manipur as Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive here on Thursday evening.

Police checked passersby and prohibited people from entering the places where the Union Home Minister is expected to visit on Friday.

On Friday, Shah is expected to inaugurate Churachandpur medical college, inaugurate polo statue at Marjing, hoist a 165 ft tall tricolor at INA HQ , Moirang , Olympian park and address a public meeting at Chengei Polo Ground, Moirang.

Helipads were arranged as Amit Shah will travel to the different venues by air. No Fly Zones were declared in the area the events will be held.

He is expected to leave directly to Nagaland on Friday itself.
