Manipur: Police detain four persons, recover three pistols in connection with Oct 20 blast

Guwahati, Oct 29 (IBNS): Manipur police on Monday detained four persons including the president of National Identity Protection Committee for their alleged involvement in Oct 20 bomb blast, which killed a CRPF personnel and injured another in critical condition.

Police had also recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

According to the reports, a team of Manipur police on Monday morning raided at the house of National Identity Protection Committee in Bishnupur district and detained the top leader of the organisation along with his wife and two others.

A top police official said that, the police personnel detained Oinam Premjit, president of the organisation along with his wife and two others identified as Sana from Nongren and Sahabuddin from Phoubakchao.

The police team recovered three pistols along with magazines from their possession.

On the other hand, Imphal West district police raided the office of Identity Protection Committee located at Keishampat Lairembi.

The police team seized a computer set, printer and few discs from the office.

A CRPF personnel had died and another was seriously injured in a powerful blast at Nagamapal on October 20 evening.
