Manipur: Civilian killed, three injured in militant attack

Guwahati, Jan 12 (IBNS): Unidentified militants on Thursday evening killed a civilian and injured three in the newly created Noney district of Manipur.

According to the reports, unidentified militants fired on a Renault Duster car at Lukhambi (Khumji) Part-2 village under Noney police station at around 4-45 pm on Thursday evening.

In the firing, the driver of the vehicle was killed and three others were injured.

The injured persons have been rushed to nearest hospital of Assam Rifles and referred to Imphal for further treatment.

The deceased person was identified as Dikhuanang Gonmei, who hailed from Chaengdai (Akhui) village in Tamelang district.

Manipur is going to assembly poll on March 4 and 8.
