Maneka Gandhi launches eBox, online portal for reporting child sexual abuse

New Delhi, Aug 26 (IBNS): Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi on Friday launched eBox, an online portal for reporting child sexual abuse.

"Released #eBox, 1st online portal to report #ChildSexualAbuse, with MoS Smt Krishna Raj & @MinistryWCD Officials," the minister tweeted.

Speaking at the launch, Gandhi thanked her ministry for developing the tool.

"I thank all the Officials of the @MinistryWCD for their efficiency & determination in developing the #eBox to address #ChildSexualAbuse," she tweeted.

The WCD Minister also urged the principals and heads of schools to educated children about eBox and to encourage them to use it to register a complaint.

"I appeal to all the Principals & Heads of Schools to ensure that their students know about the #eBox, to report cases of #ChildSexualAbuse," she said.

"I truly hope that children & adults use this #eBox Facility to report #ChildSexualAbuse so that we can fight this together. #DigitalIndia," another tweet read.

Stating that she wants children to feel safe, Gandhi tweeted, "I want all my children to feel safe & know that they are not alone in fighting #ChildSexualAbuse. We are just a click away. #eBox."
