Man drowns while saving minor in Arabian sea

| @indiablooms | Apr 02, 2019, at 03:58 pm

Kozhikode Apr 2 (UNI) A middle-aged man drowned in the Arabian sea when he was trying to save three boys after they were entangled in the waves.

The boys were, however, rescued to safety.

Police said the man was identified as Prathapan of Gandhi Road near here.

There is neither any life guards or any restriction at the Calicut beach for the visitors. There has always been similar instances of people trapped in the waves in the past. It was the locals, mostly fishermen or beach vendors, come to their rescue. Hundreds throng the beach everyday and the number go four-digits on holidays.
