Man beaten to death for stopping urinating on road

New Delhi, May 28 (IBNS) : An e-rickshaw driver was beaten to death in north Delhi on Saturday after he stopped two youths from urinating on the road, NDTV reported.

The incident occurred near a metro station in Mukherjee Nagar area.o

Ravinder Kumar, 34, was beaten up mercilessly with brass metal and towels filled with stones  by a group of people, led by the  two young men he stopped from urinating in public.

The victim was reportedly promoting "Swachch Bharat (Clean India) campaign.

Describing the incident as "sad", Union Minister M Venkiah Naidu said on Monday morning that he has spoken to Delhi's police commissioner and asked him take "strongest action possible against the culprits."

The police have registered a case of murder.
