Mamata's days in power numbered: says Union minister Babul Supriyo

New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI): Union Minister and BJP leader Babul Supriyo on Tuesday said West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee would not remain in office "very long" and that she was surviving in power only on "borrowed time".

"Mamata Banerjee is living on borrowed time! She won’t remain Chief Minister for very long and therefore won’t be invited to these meetings anyways. People would not pardon her for always keeping her petty dirty politics and personal ego above West Bengal’s welfare," Mr Supriyo tweeted.

Mamata had stayed away from the NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday, June 15.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a meeting on Wednesday to decide on the "One Nation One Election" and invited leaders of all parties to attend the same.

Mamata on Tuesday announced that she would not attend the meeting.

In a letter to Parliamentary Affairs minister Pralhad Joshi, the CM said: "Instead of doing the matter hurriedly, I would request you to kindly circulate a White Paper on the subject to all parties inviting their views by providing adequate time."
