Mamata congratulates ICSE, ISC toppers

Kolkata, May 18 (IBNS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the students for passing the ICSE and ISC examinations on Monday.

Arkya Chatterjee from Kolkata's  Vivekanand Mission School topped the ISC and Sougata Chowdhury, who studied in the city's St. Xavier's Collegiate School  jointly topped the ICSE examination.

Banerjee tweeted: "My best wishes to all the students who have successfully passed the ICSE and ISC exam. May you have a bright future ahead."

In her second tweet, she congratulated the toppers and said: "ICSE & ISC all India toppers both from Kolkata. Well done Arko Chatterjee (St Xavier's Kolkata), Saugata Chowdhury (Vivekananda Mission)."

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)  declared the class X (ICSE) and class XII (ISC) examinations results on Monday.

In ICSE, 98.49 percent students have passed the examination while in ISC the percentage stood at 96.28 percent.

Three students- Sougata Chowdhury from Kolkata, Ananya Harshad Patwardhan and Tezan Papan Sahu from Mumbai- have jointly topped the ICSE examination with 99.20 percent.

In ISC, Kolkata's Arkya Chatterjee from  Vivekanand Mission School topped the exam with 99.75 percent.
