Mamata calls herself a born Hindu, but not a Hindutva advocate
Mamata blamed BJP for the 'nuisance' that was created regarding her visit to Jagannath Temple.
Several sevaits had objected to the entry of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to the shrine of Jagannath Temple because of her support to "beef eaters" on Tuesday.
Following the objection, one sevait named Somanath Khuntia was detained by the police.
Khuntia said that WB CM has hurt several Hindus' feelings for supporting those who eat cow and buffalo meat, though other sevaits welcomed her.
During her brief interaction with media, Mamata attacked the saffron party and said: "BJP cadres can do what they want. I have full faith in Lord Jagannath."
"We worship Lord jagannath back home in Bengal. In fact, priests from Puri come and perform puja there. People from Bengal visit Lord Jagannath several times in a year," she added.
WB CM is currently in a three day visit to the state of Odisha and met the Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandopadhaya on Tuesday who is presently in CBI custody for his involvement in Rose valley scam.
The meeting with the senior TMC MP was first in the last four months since his arrest back in January this year.
