Mamata Banerjee pays homage to former CM Jyoti Basu on death anniversary

Kolkata, Jan 17 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday paid homage to former Chief Minister of the state Jyoti Basu on his death anniversary.

Communist leader Basu served as teh Chief Minister of West Bengal for a record 23 years out of the 34 years his party had ruled the state.

He died on Jan 17, 2016, aged 96.

"Homage to former Chief Minister of Bengal Jyoti Basu on his death anniversary," Banerjee's tweet read.
