Major fire breaks out in Mumbai high-rise, Deepika Padukone tweets she is 'safe'

Mumbai, June 13 (IBNS): As a major fire broke out in a Mumbai high-rise on Wednesday, actress Deepika Padukone, who is one of the residents of the building, confirmed to her fans that she was 'safe'.

"I am safe.Thank You everyone.Let us pray for our firefighters who are at site risking their lives... ," Deepika tweeted.

Deepika also reportedly owns an office in the high-rise where the fire was first seen at around 2 pm.

The building is located in Mumbai's posh Prabha Devi area.

According to reports, over 90 residents of the building have been evacuated safely.

The fire reportedly started in the 33rd floor of the 34-stories building.

No injury has been reported so far.

The cause of the fire is still not known.

Mumbai Police said its staff and fire department officials are currently at the spot.

Mumbai Police tweeted: " Our staff & Fire Brigade is on the spot for assistance. They are trying their best to douse the fire and provide necessary help to people there."
