Nashik/UNI: Two persons were arrested here for impersonating Indian Armed Forces personnel, informed the Deolali camp police on Thursday.

The duo accused were identified as Mohammad Asad Pathan and Aftaf Sheikh alias Major Khan.

According to police, the accused Pathan was stopped yesterday by an army guard in the Devlali Camp, and asked to show his identity.

However, the identity card produced by him was found to be fake. Subsequently, the military police learnt that the Id card of Sheikh alias Major Khan also was fake, he is wanted for similar crimes.

He evaded arrest for the past one year, police said, adding that photographs of both the accused dressed in Army uniforms and carrying a pistol were found during the probe.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive about their movement in the Camp area, police stated.

Notably, one Ganesh Walu Pawar was also arrested recently for imposing as an army officer.
