Rural police said Jitendra Baviskar(36) killed himself by consuming a poison at his house at Deoghat village in Malegaon taluka on Thursday.

He was in depression, as his cotton crop was damaged in the heavy downpour in the district.

In another incident, one Somnath Krishna Sanap (55) allegedly hanged himself at his residence at Sinnar taluka of the district. He had taken a huge loan and was unable to pay leading to him taking an extreme step, police added.

A case was registered and further investigation was on, they added.
