Maharashtra: Policeman booked for abetting suicide of 19-yr-old boy

Thane, May 4 (UNI) The Central Police Station of Ulhasnagar town here on Friday booked one of its policemen on the alleged charge of abetting the suicide of a teenage shopkeeper.

Quoting the complaint filed by the victim's parents,the police said that the accused Pawan Kedar levelled legal provisions against the 19-year-old chinese stall owner Satish Khedkar and harassed him subsequently.

Hence,the victim committed suicide on May 2 by hanging himself,mentioned Satish's parents.

An offence has been registered against the accused under the IPC section 306 (abetment of suicide) and no arrest has been made so far as further investigation is underway,informed senior Police Inspector Sudhakar Suradkar.
