Maharashtra police make first arrest in Govind Pansare murder case
Kolhapur, Sept 16 (IBNS) Seven months after rationalist Govind Pansare was shot dead, the police in Maharashtra have made the first arrest.
Reports said the arrested man has been identified as Sameer Gaikwad.
Pansare, a Left leader, and his wife were shot at on February 16 near their their residence in Kolhapur by a bike-borne assailant. He died four days later.
Last month, scholar MM Kalburgi was shot dead at his home in Karnataka's Dharwad by unidentified gunmen who escaped in a bike.
