Mumbai: A Mumbai sessions court on Saturday rejected the bail plea of cricket bookie Anil Jaisinghani who was arrested for his involvement in the blackmailing of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's wife Amruta Fadnavis.

Jaisinghani had earlier approached the Bombay High Court challenging his arrest while denying all the charges against him in the alleged threat and blackmailing case.

His cousin Nirmal Jaisinghani, arrested in the same case, was granted bail by the court.

The bookie’s daughter and self-proclaimed designer Aniksha, who was arrested earlier, is also in police custody.

Police have arrested the father-daughter-uncle trio in connection with the sensational attempts to threaten, bribe, and blackmail Amruta Fadnavis.
