Maha govt compels multiplexes to show Marathi films in prime time
Mumbai, Apr 7 (IBNS): The Maharashtra government on Tuesday made it compulsory for the multiplexes in the state to show Marathi films in prime time slot, media reports said.
The government had directed the multiplexes to show the films between 6 to 9 pm.
The Devendra Fadnavis government has also made it compulsory for theatres to play a short documentary in respect of Dada Saheb Falke before the commencement of a film.
Earlier, playing national anthem only was mandatory.
The new directive is a part of Maharashtra government's initiative 'Make in Maharashtra', on the lines of 'Make in India'.
Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has welcomed the move.
